Godzilla Melee Remastered: face Mechagodzilla in the guarded arena
Players report that guarding, closing to a grab opportunity and throwing Mechagodzilla toward the perimeter turrets can create an opening when repeated light attacks are not working. Quibz attributes the ineffective light hits to metal armor; the original questioner, Patch, later reports that grabs made the fight easier. lizard81288 specifically describes a heavy throw breaking the perimeter in Adventure on Normal.
Use that bounded tactic to change the fight, then continue toward the boss victory. It is a player-reported approach, not a guaranteed loop for every monster, platform or difficulty. We have not measured armor, damage, throw range or the number of hits needed.

Check the fight and the action you can perform
- This route concerns the Mechagodzilla boss and its turret perimeter. The most specific difficulty statement in the thread is Adventure on Normal.
- Know your chosen monster's guard, grab and throw actions from its current move list. For the basic reach and facing checks, use the grab practice instructions; no universal button combination is established here.
- Identify the perimeter turret or barrier you intend to throw toward. The report supports breaking an obstruction, not a coordinate route or a fixed damage value.
Use the reported grab to change the arena
Stop repeating the ineffective light string
Quibz recommends heavier attacks or grabs against this metal opponent. Use the grab route described by the successful replies rather than assuming another light hit must stagger him.
Defend and look for close grab range
Patch reports that staying close helped, while S39TheLightning describes guarding before another grab. Approach when you have a usable opening; this is not a promise that you can ignore missiles or safely walk through every attack.
Throw toward the perimeter obstruction
S39TheLightning describes throwing Mechagodzilla into the surrounding turrets. lizard81288's Adventure Normal report uses a heavy throw to break the boundary. Check that the throw connects and that the targeted perimeter actually breaks or opens before treating this step as complete.
Continue the fight in the changed space
Reassess the opening, remaining turrets and your health before another guarded grab. The overall goal is the boss victory/result, not merely one landed throw. A later grab can still fail if the range, facing or opponent's state is wrong.
If the tactic is not doing what you expected
- I hear the metallic hit but cannot interrupt him
- That is the original thread's problem. Its armor explanation is attributed player advice; try the supported grab/heavier-action branch instead of treating repeated light hits as a guaranteed opening.
- The surrounding guns keep damaging me
- Aim the throw toward a visible perimeter turret or obstruction and inspect its state. Throwing into open space is not the reported way to break that perimeter.
- The grab keeps missing
- Recheck reach, facing and the chosen monster's current move instructions. Return to basic grab practice if needed; the source does not establish an invulnerable or automatic repeat loop.
- I am fighting Mecha King Ghidorah
- That is a different fight discussed later in the thread. This page does not establish a complete route for that opponent.
- My difficulty or platform behaves differently
- Keep the actual build, fighter and difficulty with the failed step. Do not turn one Adventure Normal success into a universal armor rule or a reason to change unrelated settings.
For other environment interactions, compare the arena hazards guide. Its general examples are separate from this specific reported boss opening.
Finish the boss, then inspect the result
First confirm the observable intermediate result: your grab/throw connects and the intended perimeter obstruction opens. The player task is complete when the Mechagodzilla fight reaches its victory/result. This guide does not promise a particular reward, damage total or no-loss sequence.
