Monsters & combat
Pick a fighter. Learn its reach.
For a first session, start with the balanced default Godzilla or the starting Gigan, Megalon and Anguirus. For a new main, compare how each fighter handles distance and energy before committing your research.

| Your next decision | Useful route | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| I do not know who to play | Starting picks | Balanced, rushdown, burrowing or defense; four initially available fighters in the Switch 2 review. |
| I keep missing or running out of energy | Practice routine | Learn one short attack, one grab and one special before another full match. |
| I want to throw monsters or buildings | Grabs and environment | Reach, recovery and which structures are actually grabbable. |
| The fighter I want is locked | Permanent research | Use the current Lab reward and conditions; local access is a different goal. |
Read the arena around your fighter
Compare Rage and other temporary pickups or choose an arena interaction. A monster’s level-gated ability and a pickup during a match are separate checks.
Practice first, progress afterward
Practice is for learning, not the cited RP route. When ready to earn unlocks, choose a normal eligible match with Tournament off. Compare modes and progression.

Fighter comparisons use the official PlayStation guide; practical arena behavior comes from the platform reviews linked within each guide. No site gameplay test or ranked tier list is claimed.
